The ruined gamekeeper’s cottage at Calamus (Bhalamus) on the southernmost tip of the Pairc peninsula, Eishken (Eisgean) Estate in South Lochs, Lewis, Outer Hebrides. This remote, uninhabited region was part of a large ‘deer forest’ and current deer densities remain high. Access is easiest by sea; on foot it’s a long, difficult hike across bogs and steep hills.
