The moon is mirrored in the sea as it sets over a ruined croft house in an abandoned village seen from above during a late summer sunrise, Pairc, South Lochs, Isle of Lewis, Outer Hebrides, Scotland

The abandoned township of Valamus (Bhalamus) is only practically accessible by boat, located at the southernmost extreme of the uninhabited south Pairc peninsula, part of the modern Eishken (Eisgean) estate. The ruined keeper’s cottages, crumbling walls and and outlines of lazy beds are the only signs that remain of this cleared settlement.
